Strengthening India’s Circular Textile Economy Through Textile Recovery, Livelihoods and Sustainable Innovation

The Textile Recovery Facility (TRF), Navi Mumbai, welcomed Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh during a special programme showcasing India’s efforts towards building a sustainable and circular textile ecosystem.
The visit brought together key stakeholders from the Ministry of Textiles, Textile Committee, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and the implementation partners working towards transforming post-consumer textile waste into value, livelihoods and sustainable products. Inauguration of Punarsutra Thrift Shop at TRF Belapur
As part of the programme, the Punarsutra Thrift Shop at the Textile Recovery Facility (TRF), CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai, was inaugurated.
The thrift shop provides consumers with an opportunity to give pre-loved clothing a new life, while promoting responsible consumption and extending the useful life of textiles.
The inauguration marks another step in bringing the circular textile movement closer to citizens by creating a direct link between textile recovery, reuse and conscious consumption.
