The organisation was established in the year of 2005 with a mission to empower Empower rural and slum lives through a unique360-degree development model. They started working from Gorakhpur city and now expanded in Lucknow and Delhi. Currently they are working with the artisans who are involved in Chikankari art form.
Prayatna is a non-profit organization that is bringing about a difference in society by relentlessly working towards improving the quality of life of the people living in rural and urban areas like Muzaffarpur, Bihar with a philosophy rooted in Gandhian Ideology.
The intervention area of the project lies in the tribal belt. They have provided training to pottery & bamboo sector artisans and upskilled them in the traditional and the modern ways of making products.
