Case Study
Priti Kuduk, a 25-year-old married woman from Sahyadri Nagar, Chembur, Mumbai, participated in Tisser’s WOHLA program, which focuses on empowering women through education on topics like family planning, financial literacy, and sexual health. Among the sessions, Priti found the family planning workshop especially helpful. As a woman managing a household on a modest income of ₹12,000 a month, she realized the importance of making informed decisions about family growth. The practical advice on contraception and planning pregnancies according to her family’s financial situation resonated with her.
Priti feels empowered by the knowledge she gained, as it helps her make informed choices about her reproductive health while maintaining financial stability for her family. She intends to apply this knowledge in her life and share it with others in her community. Her participation in the WOHLA program has made a positive impact, enabling her to lead a healthier, more stable life while responsibly managing her family’s growth.

Conclusion
WOHLA is not just a program but a movement toward holistic empowerment for young women artisans. It brings together health, financial security, and livelihood development under one umbrella for the woman to lead her independent and effective life.
Tisser’s commitment to this model transforms communities, one artisan at a time, leading to a brighter future where women are healthier, more financially strong, and socially empowered.
