The Textiles Committee’s “Sustainability in the Textile Value Chain” project, launched in October 2024, is a pioneering initiative to advance circularity within the textile industry in Navi Mumbai. This project was inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the CIDCO Convention Centre in Vashi. It focuses on promoting sustainable practices by enabling the collection, sorting, and recycling of post-consumer textiles (PCT) through the creation of a dedicated Textiles Recovery Facility (TRF) in Belapur, Navi Mumbai. The project is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Textiles, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, SBI Foundation, Tisser India, and IDH India.
