Sustainability in the Textile Value Chain

The Textiles Committee’s “Sustainability in the Textile Value Chain” project, launched in October 2024, is a pioneering initiative to advance circularity within the textile industry in Navi Mumbai. This project was inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the CIDCO Convention Centre in Vashi. It focuses on promoting sustainable practices by enabling the collection, sorting, and recycling of post-consumer textiles (PCT) through the creation of a dedicated Textiles Recovery Facility (TRF) in Belapur, Navi Mumbai. The project is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Textiles, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, SBI Foundation, Tisser India, and IDH India.

Waste to Wealth – Tata Power Anokha Dhaga

Tata Power Anokha Dhaga’s “Waste to Wealth” initiative is a transformative project aimed at empowering women artisans in nine clusters across Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Raigarh. This project started in August 2024. It leverages waste materials like fabric and paper to create sustainable and innovative products, fostering economic empowerment and environmental consciousness.
